Building emergency preparedness in Warwickshire this Resilience Week

Monday 1 June 2026 marks the start of Resilience Week, and Warwickshire Resilience Forum is here to share simple tips to boost your personal and organisational resilience and emergency preparedness.

Being prepared for disruption means taking practical steps in advance to ensure that, should an incident occur, your organisation can continue to operate and recover effectively. This may include planning for events such as power outages, cyber incidents, flooding, or extreme weather. Having clear arrangements in place helps to minimise disruption, protect people and assets, and support a quicker return to normal operations.

Resilience Week started in 2025 and focuses on boosting resilience for organisations across the world. One of its five pillars is ‘Risk’, with a particular focus on business continuity arrangements ahead of a range of emergencies.

Our website makes it easy to create and fill in your own Business Continuity Plan for your organisation, so you can keep the wheels turning in emergencies ranging from cyber attacks and power outages, to flooding and heatwaves.

Ben Brook, WRF Co-Chair and Chief Fire Officer at Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service, said:

“Making business continuity arrangements are so important as the risk landscape evolves across the country.

“Whether you own your own business or work in cyber resilience, being Better Prepared for challenges and emergencies is one of the most important investments you can make.

“Creating a business continuity plan is a quick win with a huge payoff for your business and your peace of mind.”
